Botox & jeveau vs dysport – What’s The Difference?

In the United States for over ten years now, Botox has been one of the most popular neurotoxins for wrinkle treatments. Dysport too is similar.
Quick Facts:
- Treatments are extremely convenient.
- Dysport and Botox are both types of botulinum toxin injections.
- Primarily known for the treatment and prevention of wrinkles.
- Overall, both Dysport and Botox are considered safe for qualifying candidates.
- You can leave immediately after treatment and even go back to work if you feel like it.
- Dysport is less expensive than Botox on average.
- Considered safe and effective for the temporary treatment of moderate to severe wrinkles.
Key differences between Botox and Dysport:
Molecule Size
Dysport has a smaller molecule size than Botox, but both products are made with the same active ingredient which relaxes the targeted muscle to soothe wrinkle lines.
Although Botox and Dysport are made by different companies, they function almost identically, and clients are unlikely to notice any difference during treatment.
The results of a Dysport treatment sometimes manifest more quickly due to the product’s smaller molecular size, but Dysport and Botox are similar.

Unit Ratio
The ratio of Dysport to Botox units is generally 3:1.
For instance: If 20 units of Botox is needed in the forehead, then approximately 60 units of Dysport is required to achieve the same result.
Cost
The cost of Dysport or Botox depends on the area of skin you’re treating, as you might need multiple injections. It’s important to know the exact costs of each procedure beforehand.
Juvly prices are 100% transparent. At Juvly, Dysport is $4.16 per unit, Botox is $12.50 per unit. Juvly members get a 15% off on both. View detailed pricing.
Results
Unlike traditional surgical procedures, you will see the results from these cosmetic injections within a few days of treatment.
Dysport can start taking effect after a couple of days. Results last between three and four months.
With Botox, you may start seeing results within a week. Botox injections also last a few months at a time.
Neither Dysport nor Botox require recovery time — you can go home right after your provider is done with the procedure.
Procedure duration
Another reason why people choose Dysport or Botox injections is that the procedures take little time. In fact, each procedure itself takes just a few minutes. It can take more time to apply the anesthetic and allow it to dry compared to the injections themselves.

Side Effects
Both procedures are relatively painless. You might feel a little pressure as your provider injects the fluids into the target muscles in your face.
In most cases, you can leave right after the procedure is over. Some side effects may occur post injection. These tend to resolve on their own without further issue.
