Benefits of Botox and Dysport – Top 9
We love Botox and Dysport, and for good reason. From diminishing the look of wrinkles and fine lines, to reducing excessive sweating, Botox and Dysport are our secret weapons and can benefit you in many different ways.
Read on to discover the top 9 benefits of Botox and Dysport!
1. Improvement in appearance
The greatest benefit for most people who have Botox or Dysport is the improvement it makes to their appearance. Most of our clients use it for problem areas like the forehead, upper eyelids, neck, and the areas around the brow.
The reduction of wrinkles and fine lines can improve self-confidence and reduce the appearance of aging amazingly!
2. Safest and most popular aesthetic treatment
Long-term study results have shown that Botox and Dysport resulted in no side-effects for 99% of participating patients.
Allergic reactions and side-effects are extremely rare when it comes to Botox.
The only side effects that were reported were temporary and considered to be minor, such as headaches and bruising. Swelling is typically reported to last only 15-30 minutes post procedure.
3. Isn’t just for wrinkles
Because Botox and Dysport work by relaxing specific muscles, we can use them for other areas, such as the masseter muscles that sit just below the cheekbones.
When you grind your teeth, or just flex your jaw regularly, the muscles gain bulk and you can end up with a boxy look in your lower face. Strategic treatments are used to relax your jaw muscles, transforming the shape of your face!
These muscles will lose their bulk and size over a short period of time, achieving a more slim, V-shaped face.
If you suffer from grinding your teeth at night, you can also stop the teeth grinding habit with Botox or Dysport! The procedure will relax the jaw muscles and stop the grinding habit, at the same time slimming the jawline.
4. Gives those brows a little lift
Botox and Dysport can accomplish many of the same things like a surgical brow lift!
Brow lifts are surgical in nature. In other words, they involve an incision. A Botox or Dysport brow lift can benefit the brow area and target areas of the face in such a way as to simulate the overall effect of a surgical brow lift!
Botox and Dysport are used to relax certain muscles around the eyes. These muscles, which are responsible for raising and lowering the eyebrows, often pull the brow downward. When they are weakened, so is this pulling effect on the brow.
While Botox and Dysport are hard at work simulating a brow lift, it’s wrinkle fighting effects are still at play. The relaxed muscles lead to a smoother looking forehead as well!
5. Help reduce sweating
When treated under the arms, it has been shown to decrease sweating by up to 82-87%. Botox and Dysport work by actually blocking nerve activities that contribute to sweat gland production.
It subsequently prevents these glands from producing sweat! This treatment will not completely block off the glands, so some sweat will still permeate the area.
However, it has shown to cut excessive sweating in half for 95% of clients, and even more for some!
Your Master Provider will use dye to determine where sweating is most excessive before administering your Botox or Dysport treatments.
A client generally receives between 10 and 15 different shots, all of which are about 1cm apart depending on the area. Botox or Dysport can be used to prevent sweating in your underarms, hands, and possibly other areas.
6. Provides long-term results
If lines are treated with Botox or Dysport on a regular basis, they tend to remain more superficial.
The longer you are treated, the longer your results will last! Studies have shown that after two years of denervation, muscles atrophy; which means they get smaller and weaker.
This means that if the muscles that are causing your lines are continuously treated with Botox or Dysport for two years, they will atrophy and not be as likely to create wrinkles!
7. Virtually painless
This is one of the quickest and easiest treatments offered. We don’t even numb the area for these treatments, because none is needed!
The needle used for Botox and Dysport is much thinner than the average needle such as those used to draw blood, or for Dermal Filler injections.
Many patients get Botox or Dysport treatments before work, during their lunch hour, or after work and return to their normal routine with no symptoms of having been treated!
8. You can save money
By using preventative Botox, you can save money! Botox and Dysport can prevent you from needing more expensive treatments later on.
Once the fine lines are “carved” into the skin, then simply relaxing the muscles with Botox or Dysport will not erase all of the lines.
It’s never too soon to start with Botox or Dysport! As soon as lines begin to stick around, you should treat them.
When you smile or frown, lines may develop during the expression. They generally go away when the face is relaxed.
However, when lines start to stick around at rest, that’s when you can consider getting your initial treatments.
9. Botox is for (almost) everyone!
Botox and Dysport are not just for people with wrinkles anymore! Anyone who shows signs of aging has migraine headaches or experiences excessive sweating is a good candidate for Botox.
The cost will depend on the amount that is actually used on each patient, and we only charge patients for the units used. You may need 5 units, you may need 20. Every person’s skin is unique.
