WHAT IS A LIP AUGMENTATION?
A Lip Augmentation is a cosmetic procedure that can give you fuller, plumper lips. Injectable dermal filler is the most commonly used method of lip augmentation. Dermal Fillers are made of Hyaluronic Acid, which is a natural substance also found in the body.
Lip Augmentations are one of those specialties that need more than the right products and the right knowledge. They require the right eye as well. It turns out that creating a beautiful pair of lips is harder than it looks, and there are thousands of practitioners, some quite reputable, that just don’t have the necessary assets. Master Providers at Juvly have gone through a virtual gauntlet to receive their title. Training is rigorous, and not everyone has the stamina or the talent to be a part of the Juvly Team. Those that do make it in the door have more than a passing desire to practice aesthetics. They have a calling for it!
Most great practitioners use different dermal fillers that they use to achieve a desired look. Everybody’s lips and bodies are different, so you may need a differrent filler. Since the lips are actually divided into segments, or sub-units, each area will require a bit more or a bit less filler and it takes an experienced eye and flawless technique to gauge it.

When it comes time for your lip augmentation appointment keep a few things in mind:
- Lips can have a tendency to bleed
If you’re squeamish about a little bleeding, let your provider know ahead of time so you can both prepare accordingly. Also avoid any blood thinners for a week before the treatment.
- Leave yourself a 3-4 day window before an event
Bruising around the injection sites is rare, but it does happen. It’s better to plan for the possibility. However most of the immediate swelling should be gone within 24 hours and the remaining enhancement can last for anywhere from 6-18 months depending on the filler used.
Lip augmentation is growing in popularity and has become a regular part of many people’s beauty routine alongside skincare and a nice haircut. There is also growing evidence that Hyaluronic fillers, the only fillers you should allow near your lips, actually help them produce more natural volume over time. In any case, fillers are today’s only viable way to maintain the shape and volume of your lips as you age, and when they’re done right, you’ll truly love the results!
What are the Benefits of Lip Augmentation?
- Enhanced Appearance
The greatest benefit for most people who have lip filler is the improvement it makes to their appearance. Fuller lips can make a person look and feel younger.
- Natural Fullness
Fillers give you a natural look because they are made of hyaluronic acid, a substance that is naturally produced by the body. Since it’s natural, hyaluronic acid is less likely to cause bruising
- No Downtime
Fillers take no time out of your life beside the hour long appointment. You will have residual swelling, but nothing that would make you miss out on life!
- No Side Effects
Besides Swelling, allergic reactions and side-effects are extremely rare when it comes to hyaluronic acid fillers! It’s important for a potential client to discuss their known allergies, or medication, at the initial Juvly free facial assessment to ensure your Master Provider chooses the proper filler.
- Gradual Progression
Fillers can be injected over a period of time to produce the desired result. This is a great option for people who have thin lips and aren’t sure how they’ll like fuller lips. Over the course of several appointments, a client can get their lips to the desired plumpness without doing too much filler or the discomfort that might be associated with changing the size of an implant or other surgical options such as fat transfer!
